In the past few weeks I have managed to get some work done. removed the black tank, the hot water tank, and the lower inside skin. Along with pulling a lot of the old insulation out that at one time had been used as bedding for rodents. The pictures speak for themselves.

Some Pictures

These are some more pictures...mainly of the underside of the Black tank/wet bath floor pan. Notice that there are 2 pipes that connect below the valve. these are from the sink and the drain on the floor pan. because they are below the valve they always flow. So I will be thinking about adding a Gray water tank so that we won't always have to use a portable Blue Boy.

Aso one shot of the Black tank removed.

Out with the Bath

Okay...only 6 months. I am getting better! The weather was great this weekend so I got started on pulling the "wet bath" out. I put this in quotes because if you haven't ever seen one...you should. Sorry, I realized that I don't have a good picture of it, also it is kinda difficult to get a good picture because of the small size and lack of room in the camper but a wet bath is basically a very small room that is supposed to be water tight where one can sit on the toilet and shower without worrying about anything getting "water damage." That is Airstream humor.

My goal was to get the black tank (better known as the poop tank) removed. Not exactly my favorite job. Just the thought of what used to be in there creeps me out. But I digress. after removing the walls and disconecting a few pipes, I was able to lift the the black tank up and move it to the middle of the floor. Okay, so it wasn't as easy as I just made it sound. they way it was fit in there made is very difficult to lift out of the floor. But I don't want to remember difficult parts, I am just glad that I got it out.

Next Item to be removed....Hot Water Heater.

I added a shed

So, I got held up. By many things. it has been over a year now that I have worked on the Bambi...I blame it on the fact that I am lazy. I know that, but I also am like every other American with way too much to do...excuses, excuses. I don't ever let myself off that easy. But I do know that when I start it...I will become obsessed:) so, I have a shed build, thanks to my Father-in-law, to store the interior in until I begin to fill it again with the parts that I need and want to keep. I am sure it will be another year from now, lets just hope not!
